Trained in the Lineage. Teaching It Online.
Brian Corrales is a 6th Dan (Dan #36364) and certified Sa Bom — the highest teaching certification in Soo Bahk Do — in the Moo Duk Kwan tradition. He has over 30 years of martial arts training and 20 years running his own school, Wasatch Martial Arts Academy, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Digital Dojang brings that same certified instruction to students anywhere in the world.
Lineage & Credentials
Brian holds direct lineage to Moo Duk Kwan founder Hwang Kee and his son and successor, Kwan Jang Nim H.C. Hwang. He's trained at the central dojang in Korea and regularly trains with Kwan Jang Nim Hwang. He has completed the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa process in California, Switzerland, Utah, and Spain. He was issued Dan number 36364 by founder Hwang Kee, is currently a 6th Dan and certified master level instructor (Sa Bom).
His service to the Federation includes his current appointment to the United States Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), preceded by roles as a TAC Assistant and Regional Examiner. He was also appointed as a Moo Duk Kwan Heritage liaison, responsible for outreach and training efforts with the broader Tang Soo Do community.
Why Train Online With Me
Rank earned through Digital Dojang is certified by the World Moo Duk Kwan — the same organization that certifies students training in person at affiliated schools worldwide. Brian personally reviews every rank evaluation video submitted through the platform. Training online doesn't mean training informally; it means the same standards, the same certifying body, and the same instructor, delivered differently.
Beyond Soo Bahk Do
Brian's teaching is shaped by cross-training in Tae Kwon Do, Shorin-Ryu, Shotokan, and Brazilian Jiujitsu, which broadens how he explains and corrects technique. He also teaches specialty seminars in Kan Bong (the 6-foot Korean staff) and Qigong. He is a well known martial arts scholar.
